Our Story

My Journey of Inspiration – Dr. Mallika Tiruvadanan

I saw a clear gap in medical treatment—the essential care that treats a patient as a whole person was missing. The focus should not be on the disease alone but also on the person with the ‘dis-ease,’ who suffers from both the illness and the side effects of treatment. This realization motivated me to pursue palliative medicine.

After formal training, I founded the Trust in 2000 with like-minded colleagues, registering it as a Charitable Organization to ease the financial burden on patients and families. We began our practice at Sundaravadanan Nursing Home, named after my father-in-law, Dr. B.M. Sundaravadanan. The Trust was named after his wife, Mrs. Lakshmikantham, whose generous spirit inspired our mission—giving as much as we can to ease suffering.
